Midsummer Mashout™ Swedish home brew competition.

With six recipes to choose from, provided by our good friends at Amundsen, Nya Carnegie, Sthlm Brewing Co, Tempel, Singularity and Hop Notch, now is a great time to go toe-to-toe with the professionals. Each brewery has provided one of its favourite recipes, scaled down to a 19l batch size and accompanied some by tips and tricks to help make your brewday successful.

Simply select your preferred brew, containing all ingredients needed and the recipe itself. Your order number is your competition entry number, and the recipe kit will include a label for your entry. Once brewed and submitted, our team of judges shall score each brew against the BJCP guidelines, awarding prizes to the winning entry in each category.

Nya Carnegie bryggeriet - An old lightbulb factory, four brewers and many, many craft enthusiasts scattered across the world. That's how our history started, and it's still going strong.  

It started as a crazy idea with a brewery in the middle of the city (we almost ended up there..) and ended up with a brewery in a cramp building in Hammarby Sjöstad. Since the 10th of February 2014 we have created magic in the old Lightbulb Factory of Luma. We have laughed and cried together over amazing brews, mistakes and fantastic events we hosted during the years.  

Over the years we've been up and running we have brewed over 150 different kinds of beer. Some of the have been one-offs and some have we brewed since the start and are still brewing today (Kellerbier ❤️). We have brewed beer on old, stale bread, recycled sewage water and a lot, a lot, a lot of Witbier (?). 

All entries must be received at BrewGoat no later than Friday 4th June and judging shall take place on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th June.

Entry Conditions:

Each entry must be brewed in accordance with the kit and recipe purchased, and will be judged against the other entries for that recipe, as well as against all entries in the overall category.

Winners will be decided by which beer is highest scoring by the judges per category, not which beer clones the relevant recipe most accurately or aligns closest to the specific BJCP category.

All entrants must submit 3 x 330ml or 500ml bottles of their home brew labelled with their BrewGoat order number, as provided in the recipe kit.

No other marks or writing should be present on the bottle, and entries with names or other personal identifying information will be refused entry to the competition (and likely consumed by the organisers without further notice).

No responsibility can be taken for entries lost or damaged in transit:

The winners will be announced following the final judging session on Sunday 6th June. All winners will be notified, but if any of the winners do not respond within two weeks, the second highest scorer shall be awarded the prize.

By entering the competition, you are agreeing that your name may be shared by the event organisers in the event that your entry is awarded a prize.

Prizes will be awarded to the brewer of the highest scoring entry in each category, according to the judges’ scoring, as well as the highest scoring overall entry.

The scores provided by the judges are final and are not subject to revision or challenge.

All prizes are not transferable and no cash alternative for any prize shall be offered.

All entrants must be of legal drinking age in Sweden (18 years).
