Viking Roasted Barley
Viking Roasted barley is produced by roasting malting barley of good quality. The roasting process is similar to Black Malt with extra care not to burn the grain. The final temperature is more than 200°C. The taste of roasted barley is hard and more bitter than that of black malt. Burnt and smoky flavors are apparent. Roasted barley is used in dark beers such as stouts and porters, mainly for their strong color ability. Roasted grain gives a dry taste and significant color.
